The alternative business funding ecosystem continues to navigate structural hurdles, including fragmented lender networks, labor-intensive manual underwriting, and communication bottlenecks. To address these persistent challenges, Ali Jozani established The Funded Method under JZNI Holdings LLC, functioning as an AI-focused training initiative designed to prepare newcomers for the sector.
By blending traditional underwriting principles with contemporary, tech-enabled workflows, the curriculum seeks to optimize client intake, application submissions, lender matchmaking, and follow-up sequences.
From Pre-Med Aspirations to Funder Operations
Jozani’s entry into finance represented a pivot from his original path. Born in Iran and relocating to the U.S. at age ten, he initially pursued pre-med studies to satisfy conventional expectations for professional careers. However, his trajectory shifted following two entrepreneurial ventures: an unsuccessful Amazon FBA business and a volatile venture into digital asset trading that yielded substantial gains before suffering major losses. These experiences highlighted the necessity of disciplined operational structures over short-term speculation.
He subsequently spent more than five years leading operations at a seven-figure alternative funding brokerage. In that role, he oversaw approximately 95% of the firm’s deal flow, recruited and mentored over 200 remote sales professionals, established the internal underwriting division, and forged direct connections with upwards of 200 distinct lenders.
This tenure provided deep exposure to various financial products—such as merchant cash advances, business lines of credit, SBA loans, HELOCs, and zero-percent credit card stacking. Crucially, Jozani recognized that understanding financial instruments was only half the battle; brokers also needed to navigate lender risk appetites and maintain a seamless pipeline.
“There are more than 200 lenders in this market,” Jozani noted. “Most new brokers know ten of them, and they wonder why their approval rate is low.”
Closing the Industry’s Automation Deficit
Drawing on his extensive field background, Jozani designed The Funded Method to target what he views as a glaring automation gap within alternative business funding, where tasks like reviewing bank statements and submitting individual applications remain largely manual.
“This industry is one of the last places in finance where a person still reads a bank statement by hand,” Jozani stated. “That is not tradition, that is a gap.”
The core offering is a 12-week program that pairs foundational underwriting education with an AI-supported operational stack. Participants learn company appraisal, funder criteria interpretation, intake coordination, submission handling, relationship cultivation, and automated follow-ups.
Importantly, the educational sequence prioritizes foundational knowledge before tool deployment. Jozani emphasizes that automation should assist rather than replace human judgment:
“AI should do the underwriting math. The broker still has to understand the decision,” he explained. “Skip that order and you have built a very fast way to be wrong.”
The program’s overarching aim is to help new brokers achieve their first funded deal in about 90 days, cutting down the typical trial-and-error period.
Process Outweighs Aggressive Sales
Jozani maintains that long-term viability in brokerage depends on repeatable processes rather than hard-charging sales tactics. “Every broker fails the same way,” he remarked. “Not from a lack of hustle, from a lack of process. The deal dies in the follow-up, not the pitch.”
Alongside its cohort-based training, The Funded Method offers self-paced materials and educational literature, including The 2026 Broker Stack—an annual resource outlining emerging technologies, financing tools, lender networks, and operating frameworks.
Through this comprehensive blueprint, Jozani seeks to replace informal networks and steep operational learning curves with a structured, technology-backed entry point for future brokers.
