The alternative business funding ecosystem frequently struggles with fragmented networks, manual underwriting processes, and communication breakdowns. Ali Jozani, founder of The Funded Method under JZNI Holdings LLC, views these structural bottlenecks as both an industry challenge and an opportunity to introduce modern, tech-enabled workflows to new market participants.
From Early Ventures to Funder Leadership
Jozani’s path into financial operations diverged from his initial academic trajectory. Born in Iran and relocating to the United States at age ten, he initially pursued pre-med studies in line with traditional family expectations. However, his career path shifted after launching an unsuccessful Amazon FBA venture and experiencing significant gains followed by sharp losses in digital asset trading. These early commercial hurdles underscored a lasting operational principle: speculative ventures demand disciplined frameworks to survive.
Following those undertakings, Jozani spent over five years running operations at a seven-figure alternative funding brokerage. During that tenure, he managed roughly 95% of the firm’s deal flow, onboarded and coached more than 200 remote sales professionals, structured the internal underwriting department, and established direct relationships with upwards of 200 individual lenders.
This hands-on immersion exposed him to a broad array of financial products, including merchant cash advances, business lines of credit, Small Business Administration loans, home equity lines of credit, and zero-percent credit card stacking. Beyond understanding the products, he recognized that successful brokers must comprehend distinct lender risk appetites and maintain seamless pipeline management.
“There are more than 200 lenders in this market,” Jozani noted. “Most new brokers know ten of them, and they wonder why their approval rate is low.”
Integrating Automation With Core Underwriting
Observing widespread manual inefficiencies—such as manual bank statement evaluations and piecemeal application submissions—Jozani established The Funded Method. The 12-week program teaches newcomers foundational underwriting principles before integrating an AI-driven operational stack designed to assist with client intake, lender matchmaking, application routing, and follow-up tracking.
The curriculum emphasizes structural sequencing. Jozani maintains that human operators must master foundational mechanics before deploying automated tools.
“AI should do the underwriting math. The broker still has to understand the decision,” he explained. “Skip that order and you have built a very fast way to be wrong.”
The program’s primary objective is to help new brokers secure their first funded transaction within approximately 90 days, reducing reliance on prolonged trial-and-error.
Emphasizing Process Over Sales Aggression
According to Jozani, long-term success in funding brokerage depends on repeatable operational procedures rather than aggressive sales techniques. “Every broker fails the same way,” he remarked. “Not from a lack of hustle, from a lack of process. The deal dies in the follow-up, not the pitch.”
Alongside its cohort training, The Funded Method offers self-paced resources and publishes instructional materials such as The 2026 Broker Stack, an annual reference guide detailing current market technologies, financing options, and operating systems. Through these initiatives, Jozani seeks to replace informal networks and steep learning curves with a disciplined, tech-enabled entry point for the next generation of alternative funding professionals.
