Block Inc.’s Square said Tuesday that it has translated its full product ecosystem to Spanish as it aimed to make its offerings more accessible to Latino-owned businesses. Through the effort, Square, the part of Block focused on payment processing and other tools for small businesses, will let businesses access its lending, banking, payroll, restaurant-management and other products in either English or Spanish. “Ensuring that Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs can take full advantage of products like Square’s powerful point of sale hardware, accessible financing tools, and seamless staff management solutions represents an important step in Square’s commitment to economic empowerment for traditionally underserved populations like the Latino community,” Square said in a press release. The release noted that Latino-owned businesses make up 14% of all businesses in the U.S. and are the fastest-growing segment of the U.S. small-business base.
