Polygon Labs invests $2M in Moonveil to expand its cross-chain gaming ecosystem.
Moonveil will launch 50,000 nodes starting October 22, with activation in Q1 2025.
Node operators will contribute to network decentralization and data verification.

Moonveil, a gaming-focused Layer-2 blockchain platform, has announced details of its upcoming node sale and revealed a significant $2 million investment from Polygon Labs.

This funding aims to expand Moonveil’s interoperable gaming ecosystem, which is set to revolutionize the web3 gaming space by integrating with the AggLayer for seamless cross-chain gaming experiences.

Moonveil to launch 50,000 nodes in October

Starting on October 22, Moonveil will launch 50,000 nodes, which will be available in two phases. The first phase, a Whitelist Round, will begin on October 22, followed by a Public Round on October 24.

Interested participants can secure their whitelist spots by engaging with Moonveil’s campaigns, AMA sessions, and its partners’ events.

Node operators will play a critical role in Moonveil’s progressive decentralization strategy, contributing to key network functions such as data availability, proof verification, and transaction sequencing.

While node activation is scheduled for Q1 2025, 25% of node operators’ tokens will be unlocked following the token generation event (TGE), with the remaining 70% distributed over three years.

Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron emphasized how Moonveil’s vision aligns with Polygon’s goals for the future of blockchain. “By supporting Moonveil nodes, we are reinforcing our commitment to advancing the next era of gaming through ZK-powered technology and seamless interoperability,” Boiron stated.

AggLayer-connected projects within the Moonveil ecosystem

Of the total investment, $1 million will be specifically allocated to fast-track AggLayer-connected projects within the Moonveil ecosystem, promoting growth and innovation.

Moonveil’s Layer-2 network, which is built on Polygon’s CDK (Chain Development Kit), will integrate with AggLayer, unlocking cross-chain connections that are expected to redefine the gaming landscape.

Moonveil is backed by a team of veterans from major gaming companies like Riot Games, Funplus, and Netease. With experience from popular titles such as League of Legends and Minecraft, Moonveil’s team is focused on developing top-tier, ZK-powered products that support both proprietary and third-party games.

This move positions Moonveil as a key player in shaping the future of web3 gaming, combining blockchain technology with immersive gaming experiences.
