Israel Gaza: How missiles and destruction quickly returned after ceasefire

Read Time:32 Second

A seven-day ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has ended, bringing with it explosions and bloodshed.

A temporary pause in fighting between Israel and Hamas has ended, resulting in missile strikes and destruction once again.

The two sides have blamed each other for the returning violence. Israel said that Hamas violated the ceasefire by failing to release women and children who are being held hostage in Gaza. Hamas said that Israel was responsible as it prevented fuel supplies from reaching the north of Gaza.

The BBC’s Anna Foster reports from southern Israel, near the border with Gaza, and the BBC’s Middle East correspondent Hugo Bachega reports from Jerusalem.
