Read Time:41 Second

U.S. stocks opened lower Monday, extending last week’s losses as Treasury yields climbed. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA was down 0.2% soon after the opening bell, while the S&P 500 SPX shed 0.2% and the Nasdaq Composite COMP slid 0.3%, according to FactSet data, at last check. On Friday, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq each booked a third-straight weekly decline as rising bond yields hurt equities in the wake of the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note was up nine basis points at around 4.53% on Monday morning, FactSet data show, at last check.
