: Universal Health Services Q3 results beat estimates, stock rockets higher

Universal Health Services Inc. UHS jumped 12% after hours after the hospital and health-facility operator reported third-quarter results that beat estimates. The company reported net income of $182.8 million, or $2.50 a share, compared with $2.60 a share, during the third quarter of 2021. Net sales rose 5.7% to $3.34 billion, compared with $3.16 billion during the year-earlier quarter. After adjusting for unrealized losses on securities, Universal Health Services earned $2.54 a share, compared with $2.67 a year ago. Analysts polled by FactSet expected adjusted earnings per share of $2.43, on revenue of $3.28 billion.
