Biden says he made his view on Khashoggi murder ‘crystal clear’ to Saudi crown prince

President Joe Biden on Friday said he made his view about the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi “crystal clear” to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “I was straightforward and direct in discussing it,” Biden told reporters during a visit to Saudi Arabia. “I made my view crystal clear.” Biden has criticized the kingdom for its human-rights abuses, in particular the murder of Khashoggi, who was a U.S.-based Saudi journalist. Biden said the crown prince told him he wasn’t personally responsible for Khashoggi’s death, to which the president said he replied: “I indicated I thought he was.” Separately, Biden said he expects “further steps” on expanding oil supply in the coming weeks, following his meetings with Saudi leaders.
