Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will speak virtually to members of the U.S. Congress on Wednesday at 9 a.m., top Democratic leaders announced on Monday. “Congress remains unwavering in our commitment to supporting Ukraine as they face [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s cruel and diabolical aggression, and to passing legislation to cripple and isolate the Russian economy as well as deliver humanitarian, security and economic assistance to Ukraine,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said in announcing the speech. Lawmakers this week are preparing to move quickly to end normal trade relations with Russia as one form of punishment over the invasion of Ukraine.
